gastronomy: the art of good eating
fitness: good health or physical condition, especially as the result of exercise and proper nutrition
I've always loved good food, but when I starting changing my life to become a healthier and more fit human I felt I had to give up the 'tasty' food that I'd grown to love. Over the years I've read recipe after recipe from fitness professionals and I have to say....a lot of them have led to disappointment. Sure, they were somewhat palatable and I could survive and be healthy eating them. But the true enjoyment that I got from food before was never quite the same. Rather than surviving solely off egg white omelettes and salad with grilled chicken (because let's face it - we could all do that, but that's no way to live!) I decided to find recipes that I've loved throughout the years and transform them 'just enough' to keep them delicious and worthy of a dinner party with even the most critical guests, but healthy enough that as a personal trainer I'd proudly hand them over to my clients.
