Anyone who knows me, knows my disdain for nutella - not for the flavour necessarily - but for the advertising that it will give your kids energy for the day and that it's a good nutrition option for the family. That being said. I love chocolate. So that means I needed to make a healthy chocolate spread to put on top of my oatmeal protein pancakes and crepes. It's got protein and good healthy fats - that's it! Perfect :)
Chocolate Peanut Butter Spread
makes 4 large servings
Ingredients:
4 tbsp of natural nut butter (I used peanut but almond/cashew would likely be amazing too!)
1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup of unsweetened almond milk
1 scoop of vanilla protein
Mix all of the ingredients together well. Microwave for approximately 1-2 minutes. Pour into a shallow container and store in the fridge for a few hours before use (overnight would be ideal!) Then spread onto your morning pancakes, spoon on top of greek yogurt, use it as part of a crepe filling...or grab a spoon - delicious and stores well in the fridge!
