Yogurt = sometimes healthy
Berries = healthy
Granola = sometimes healthy
A yogurt, berries and granola parfait from a fast food restaurant? Not healthy. Don't fool yourself....sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the sugar packed yogurt and granola from those 'restaurants' is nothing but a giant sugar bomb.
You're way better off controlling the ingredients yourself and making it at home instead. It's simple to do! Plus, it looks beautiful and can be a pre-made dessert for a dinner party. It can be made in any clear glass - even those stemless wine glasses that we all have kicking around like I did in the picture above!
Granola Berry Parfait
serves 1
Ingredients:
1/2 cup of plain lowfat greek yogurt**
1 cup sliced mixed berries
1/4 cup of homemade almond and date granola
*drizzle (tsp) of honey overtop - optional
1) Layer yogurt, berries and granola in that order 2-3 times in a clear glass jar.
2) That's it :) Doesn't get easier than that!
This is a great breakfast, snack or dessert option - healthy fats, protein and fruit. Good deal all around!

** if you are cow's dairy free sub-in a goat-yogurt - I like the Crosswinds brand as well as Liberte - not as 'goat-y' as one would expect :)
