Yesterday was my anniversary and obviously my husband knows the way to my heart because during our walk through Yorkville we wound up at Williams Sonoma - most women love shoe stores - for me the kitchen store is where it's at!
I found some amazing kitchen gadgets that if you are looking to buy a gift for the chef in your life, these gifts will not only make cooking easier and more fun, but they look great too! Check them out :)
1) On the left is a tabletop oil mister - I've mentioned olive oil misters before but here is a great little one! You put your olive oil in it, and rather than use an aerosol spray, you pump it yourself and it will evenly spray your oil onto your salad or pan. Great way to reduce the oil you use in cooking!
2) Salad dressing mixer - this little container has some great simple salad dressing recipes on the side, plus a mixing wand inside so you always can have fresh dressing on hand, and it can get mixed without a ton of air bubbles forming (which is usually what happens when you shake it!)
3) Conversion magnets - I can't tell you how many times I go to 'google' to look up conversions from oz-grams or from fahrenheit to celsius (my oven has celsius labels and I can't get used to not using fahrenheit!) These great magnets would blend in well on a stainless steel fridge and they have all of your basic conversion amounts on it! Fabulous time saver :)
4) Instant popsicle makers! How many times have you wanted a homemade frozen smoothie or popsicle but been impatient to wait until they have frozen - use this tool and you will have them right away! This is a great one for the chef-kids in your life! (and for those of us who love the frozen protein peanut butter cup, this would be an awesome addition to the kitchen!) Check out their website for more info
6) Utensil holders - my stove is a mess when I'm done cooking a sauce or stew from the spoon that I'm using to cook it. My stove doesn't have a ton of room for a spoon holder, so these are great alternatives. They hook onto the rim of the pot you're using and you can rest the spoon on the hook. Saving cleaning time means more time for cooking :)
7) Lettuce shears: One thing that is the most time consuming when making salad is ripping up the lettuce leaves. These great shears have 2 blades, with a plastic 'scoop' on the bottom. All you have to do is put your lettuce in a big bowl and slice through it with the shears - quick and easy and awesome to get those bite-sized lettuce pieces that we all want!
Fingers crossed I wake up to some of these great options in my stocking! Thanks Williams Sonoma for a fabulous anniversary :) Check out their website for more great ideas!
